1. Conducted hearings on garbage policy and garbage in waterfront settlements
   at the Kota Kinabalu City Hall in Sabah's capital city.

   ■The amount of garbage collected was not quantified, and it was difficult to obtain data on
   　the vast amount of garbage. However, we completed a hearing survey of residents.

   ■ごみの 回収量等は定量化されておらず膨大なごみに関してのデータは入手困難であったが、

   Do you know the attributes (population and number of households) of the communities
   on the water?

   As for the settlements on the water, there are legal settlements, although the entire area
   is not yet known due to unregistered people.

   水上集落の属性を把握しているか？

   水上集落については、未登録者がいて全体を把握できていないが合法集落が存在する。

   What is the current status of the waste collection system in the water villages?

   For water settlements, legal settlements exist on Gaya Island, and the garbage collection
   system is in the process of being introduced.

   水上集落のごみ回収システムについての現状はどうなっているのか？

   水上集落については、ガヤ島へ合法集落が存在し、ごみ回収システムは導入過程にある。

   Have you added recycling locations since 2023?

   Unfortunately, we have not been able to add more due to lack of budget.
   We are in the process of requesting cooperation from companies.

   2023年からリサイクル場所を増やしているのか？

   残念ながら予算不足で増設できていない。企業への協力依頼を要請中。
   但し、DBKK近隣のサスティナブルリサイクルセンターを紹介している。

   Other hearings included requests to the Sabah government and the current status of school
   initiatives and the continued implementation of the plastic bag ban in stores.

   他にも、サバ州政府への要望内容や、学校の取組の現状と店舗でのレジ袋禁止を継続実施していることをヒアリングした。

   Results of Hearing Investigation／ヒアリング調査結果

   ➤We don‘t know how to deal with the huge amount of plastic waste that arrives. Garbage
   　stations are also overflowing. However, an NGO in Sabah has donated a crusher and is
   　working to make use of it. For example, they are trying to pour concrete into plastic waste
   　and utilize it for promenades.

   ➤膨大に流れ着くプラスチックごみをどう処理して良いか解らない。ごみステーションも溢れているが、SabahのNGOから
   　粉砕機の寄付を受けて利活用へ向けた活動ができている。
   　一例としてコンクリートを詰めて遊歩道への活用へ挑戦している。

海洋プラスチックごみ高等学校向環境教育プログラム構築

マレーシアの事例をもとに環境問題とプラスチックごみ削減について学ぶボードゲームを作成。
秋田県立秋田中央高等学校・サバ州SMK Datuk peter Mojuntinの生徒たちが意見を交換しつくりあげました。

パイロット実施

●School 1 (SMK Taman Tun Fuad): 31 students
●School 2 (SMKA Tun Ahmadshah Kota Kinabalu): about 30 students
　*As issues were identified through the first pilot implementation, the program content was revised.
●School 3 (SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin): 45 students
●School 4 (SMK Tebobon): About 30 students
　*Since the third school was a pilot implementation class at a jointly developed school,
　students involved in the development also served as facilitators and led the class.
●School 5 (SM St Francis Convent): 36 students
●School 6 (SM St Michael, Penampang): 34 students

In the final pilot class of the “Marine Plastic Waste Environmental Education Program,” all the clarified modifications were reflected in the class.

パイロット実施成果：6校6クラス_参加数206名
●実施校 1（SMK Taman Tun Fuad）：参加生徒_31名
●実施校 2（SMKA Tun Ahmadshah Kota Kinabalu）：参加生徒_約30名
　※初めてのパイロット実施により課題が見えたため、プログラム内容を修正対応した。
●実施校 3（SMK Datuk Peter Mojuntin）： 参加生徒_45名
●実施校 4（SMK Tebobon）：参加生徒_約30名
　※3校目は共同開発校でのパイロット実施授業だったため、開発に携わった生徒もファシリテーターを務めて授業をリードした。
●実施校 5（SM St Francis Convent）：参加生徒_36名
●実施校 6（SM St Michael, Penampang）：参加生徒_34名

「海洋プラスチックごみ環境教育プログラム」最終パイロット実施では明確になった修正点を全て反映し、授業を実施した。

Purpose of the survey ／アンケート調査目的
To develop educational materials for plastic waste reduction in Malaysia, one of the main emitters
of plastic waste,and to verify the effectiveness of the implementation of the educational materials.

Q17 Let us know the good and bad points of the environmental education program you joined today?

• It was very interesting to learn about my country, which I didn't know before.I look forward to more in the future.
• We can learn how to reduce plastic in the ocean and share it with our friends. We will be able to make them aware the good thing is that we learnt more about the environment and all the students did their best.
• The games are a bit confusing at first, but we can learn how to reduce waste in Sabah. Presentation data is good.
• The programme has taught me a lot about how to reduce waste plastics. Furthermore, the programme has increased their motivation to volunteer.

Q17　今日参加した環境教育プログラムの良い点、悪い点（改善点）を教えてください。

• 今まで知らなかった自分の国のことを知ることができて、とても興味深かった。今後も期待している。
• 海のプラスチックを減らす方法を学ぶことができ、それを友人と共有することができます。私たちは相手に気づきを与えることができるでしょう！
• 良い点は、環境についてより深く学ぶことができたことと、生徒全員がベストを尽くしたことです。
• ゲームは、最初は少し分かりにくいが、サバ州のゴミを減らす方法を学ぶことができる。プレゼンデータが良い。
• 廃棄プラスチックを減らす方法について多くのことを学んだし、プログラムによってボランティア活動のモチベーションが向上した。

■Consideration & Future prospects　／考察＆展望

• The reason for the significant increase in the percentage of correct answers in the knowledge survey may be due to the explanations given on the slides in the teaching materials.
• The two questions on practicability assessment for which no difference in mean values was found in the awareness survey were also scored higher in the pre-survey, suggesting that the students had this awareness from the start.
• Clarify the correlation between the students' activities and our environmental education. The aim is to conduct descriptive statistical analysis in the future.

• 知識に関する調査で正答率が有意に向上した項⽬が多かったのは教材のスライドで説明を⾏ったためと考えられる
• 意識に関する調査で平均値の差が⾒られなかった実⾏可能性評価の2つの質問については、事前アンケートのスコアも⾼く、
  元からそのような意識を持っていたからではないかと考えられる
• ⽣徒たちの活動と私たちが⾏った環境教育との相関関係を明らかにする。今後は記述式の統計分析を目指す。

      Requested the Executive Committee to consider the presentation of high school student initiatives within the 2025 SERASI contest.
